At Gorokan Public School, we employ a comprehensive approach to student behaviour management, prioritising the reinforcement of positive conduct through continuous acknowledgment and recognition. This includes verbal praise, Outstanding consistent behaviour stickers, and Gorokan Gold awards. Simultaneously, we address negative behaviours with respect and fairness. Our approach is guided by Glasser’s Choice Theory, emphasising proactive measures to foster student wellbeing and manage discipline positively through the Get Happier Project.
As part of this school-wide initiative, we implement Reality Therapy principles, utilising the Get Happier Open Roads and Roundabout framework, alongside our student Behaviour Matrix, ensuring fair and equitable behaviour management. Teachers consistently apply the Classroom Behaviour Management Guide across all classrooms. By nurturing positive behaviour and maintaining consistent disciplinary measures, our approach cultivates an optimal learning environment for all students.
