Kids love big school.

Sisters having fun.

If you have a child who will be starting at 'Big School' next year come along to our Kindy Orientation Program in Terms 3 and 4.

These days are a valuable experience for you and your child. Pre-schoolers love them, they make new friends and become familiar with the way we do things at big school. It is a great way to ease them into the change from pre-school to big school.

RSVP to the school office on 43924200 or on the attached RSVP note (DOC 28KB)

Parents will learn about technology the students will be using at school with Mr Zammit and Mr Gibbs.

Children will visit a kindergarten classroom at big school and participate in activities while they meet new friends. During the morning you and your child will be shown around the school. You will visit the kindy classrooms and see what the big kids do at school. Parents and carers will attend a Best Start Information session with Myree Kent in the Before and After School Care rooms.

Transition 3: Wednesday 9 September 9:30-10:30am

Children will visit a Kindergarten classroom and participate in activities. Parents will attend a talk about speech and language with Michelle Everson.

Transition 4: Wednesday 7 October 9:30-11:00am - Term 4

Today your child will experience all the fun of big school! In the kindy classrooms pre schoolers will build, do art or craft, sing songs and hear a story. Parents will be kept busy meeting key people from the school and getting important information about helping your child settle in to big school next year.

Transition 5: Wednesday 14 October 9:30-11:00am - Term 4

Children will be involved with more fun activities in the Kindergarten classrooms. Parents will be  busy in the school hall with a variety of presenters and educators with valuable information about supporting your kindergarten child in their first year of school.

Transition 6: Wednesday 21 October 9:30-11:00am - Term 4

We have another great morning planned for you and your child. In the hall parents have a school expo to visit with a variety of stalls. You will meet next year's Kindergarten teachers and have morning tea with other mums, dads, nans and pops. Your child will be having another fun morning in the kindy classrooms. They will be doing 'big school' work and making new friends.

Preschoolers love these orientation sessions. This booklet, from the DET, is helpful preparation for the start of school (PDF 13.5KB). You may also find the following items helpful also; an organiser (PDF 13.5KB) to help the family to manage school life and a children's picture book (PDF 3.7MB) about starting school to help start the school year well.
