Gorokan Public School supports the special needs of it's students
Our school’s Special Needs unit co-ordinator, Patsy Young, had the idea for a wheelchair-friendly Liberty Swing about three years ago and floated it with the P&C.
They decided to start fundraising and raised about $8000 in 12 months.
Wyong Leagues Club Group board member, Bob Pettiford, attended one of the P & C’s fundraising events with his family.
Later, he brought the idea to the league’s club board, which decided to fund the remaining $24,000 through its charitable foundation, Roo's Foundation, so the school — and more importantly its special needs students — could enjoy the swing immediately..
